Security ramped up around Progressive Field for postseason games

With postseason games just days away, security measures are being ramped up.

Gateway Plaza next to Progressive Field will begin security activation three hours before gates open for the games.

There will be no vehicles allowed into the area and no persons allowed onto the plaza without passing through a security checkpoint. The checkpoints are located at:

  • Ontario Street and Eagle Avenue
  • Huron Road and East 6th Street
  • Gateway East Parking garage (exit to the plaza)
  • East 9th Street and Eagle Avenue

Tickets for Games 1 and 2 of the American League Division Series on Thursday and Friday are sold out. Purchasing from secondary sources besides the Indians.com is at the buyer's risk.

Taking the RTA

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is offering $5-cash, round-trip tickets at the following stations.

  • Brookpark Road
  • Triskett Avenue
  • Tower City Light Rail platform
  • Puritas Avenue
  • Louis Stokes/ Windermere

Late-night service will be available on the Red, Blue and Green Line and guaranteed for 60 minutes after each game ends.
