Die hard Cavs fan teaching in Warriors territory

Dan Kyle is a seventh grade teacher in the San Francisco area and has been since 2003.

Kyle is also a die hard Cavaliers fan and is one of the founding fathers of the RealCavsFans blog website.

Kyle and some others were blogging before LeBron James was drafted by Cleveland and through the ups and the downs since.

“When Kyrie was a rookie and we were winning 20 to 25 games a year I was paying $155 a year for NBA League Pass just to watch us lose all those games because that’s what Clevelanders do,” said Kyle.

Kyle has had to deal with his fellow teachers, even some of his students basking in the Golden State Warriors’ glory the last 12 months but he admits he is trying to become a little more care-free in his approach.

“Out here in the Bay people just say 'alright we’re winning, we’re winning,'” added Kyle. “If they’re losing, it’s like hey how about the hockey team? How about the baseball team? They just move on. They really won’t stick with it like a Clevelander will.”

Kyle has another huge Cleveland sports connection, his father is longtime St. Ignatius football coaching legend Chuck Kyle.
