Wednesday’s Cavaliers parade was filled with tense moments for some parents when more than a dozen children went missing for hours.
As of Wednesday evening, most of those missing children had been picked up at Cleveland Police Headquarters at 1300 Ontario Street.
Chris Landers told newsnet5.com her two children vanished for several hours. She found them at Police headquarters around 5:00 p.m.
“They got lost in all that crowd, all that hoopla and just got away from me,” Landers said. "I’m frantic. We’re walking downtown. You see people laying on the ground. These homeless people, you never know. I’m just grateful right now. I’m just grateful right now."
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Ciaccia urged parents to prep their children before attending large outdoor events. She said parents should tell their children to approach someone in uniform, like a fireman or police officer if they become separated from their families.
