BEREA, Ohio — Browns wide receiver Antonio Callaway’s marijuana possession charge from a traffic stop in Strongsville last August has been dismissed, according to court records.

The 2018 NFL draft pick was due to appear in Berea Municipal Court for a trial scheduled for Feb. 22, records indicate. That trial was canceled after the drug possession charge was dismissed.

Callaway did plead guilty to driving on a suspended license in connection with the Aug. 5 traffic stop at 3 a.m. in Strongsville. The police report states an officer saw Callaway failing to yield to oncoming traffic while turning onto Howe Road.
The officer found “a small amount” of suspected marijuana under the driver’s seat, the report stated. Deputy Chief John Janowski told ESPN the amount of marijuana was small enough to be regarded as a minor misdemeanor under Ohio law.

Earlier in 2018, Callaway failed a drug test at the NFL combine, the Associated Press reported. He was also cited for marijuana possession in Florida in May 2017.

Callaway also pleaded guilty to speeding for a separate incident that happened on Oct. 23, 2018. Court records indicated he was driving 58 mph in an area with a 35 mph speed limit.
