Browns re-sign Tank Carder, sign Meder & Mostert

Posted

The Cleveland Browns announced on Monday that the team re-signed linebacker Tank Carder and also signed defensive lineman Jamie Meder and runningback Raheem Mostert.

The Browns reported Carder was set to become an unrestricted free agent before he was re-signed to the team. Meder and Mostert were signed as exclusive rights free agents.

Qualifying offers from the Browns were also extended to defensive lineman Don Jones, offensive lineman Austin Pasztor, wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, and linebacker Scott Solomon. All four of the players are restricted free agents.

According to the Browns, if Jones, Pryor or Solomon sign an offer with another club, the Browns have right of first refusal and would receive draft choice compensation equal to the player's original draft round if they leave. If Pasztor signs an offer with another club, the Browns would have right of first refusal.

Carder joined the Browns via waivers prior to the start of the 2012 season after being selected by Buffalo in the fifth round of the 2015 draft. He appeared in 62 games with two starts, the Browns reported.

The Browns said Meder appeared in all 16 games as a reserve in 2015. As an undrafted rookie, Mostert appeared in 11 games.

Jones appeared in five games with the Saints in the 2015 season before being acquired by Cleveland through waivers, the Browns reported. He appeared in nine Browns games. Pasztor, who joined the Browns via waivers from Jacksonville, appeared in all 16 games with the Browns with four starts.

The Browns said Pryor appeared in three games with two starts in 2015. Solomon appeared in two games before being placed on injured reserve due to his knee.
