Gerald McCoy, the six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle whom the Browns have been courting, has signed with the Carolina Panthers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

McCoy, a 10-year veteran who was recently released by Tampa Bay, would have joined Pro Bowlers Myles Garrett, Sheldon Richardson and Olivier Vernon, and rising star Larry Ogunjobi, on what would have been one of the most highly decorated defensive lines in NFL history.

The Ravens, Panthers and Browns all courted McCoy, who had six sacks and 21 quarterback hits last season.
