We are pleased to announce that News 5 will remain the official flagship station of the Cleveland Browns.

As part of a new long-term agreement, News 5 will televise Cleveland Browns preseason games. We will also continue to produce our Emmy-winning Sunday pre-game show with the Browns, along with exclusive year-round programming such as Building the Browns, and draft and training camp specials.

“Our partnership with News 5 has created many unique opportunities to share our organization’s stories with Browns fans during preseason game broadcasts and throughout the year,” Browns executive vice president/chief operating officer Dave Jenkins said. “We look forward to building on that foundation as we strive to provide Browns fans and News 5 viewers with compelling content about our players, coaches, staff and community.”

The Browns and News 5 have been partners since 2015.

“Everyone at our station is thrilled with the continuation of our long-term partnership with the Cleveland Browns," said Steve Weinstein, vice president and general manager at News 5. "As the station that has been serving Northeast Ohio communities longer than any other, we understand the passion and loyalty of Browns fans. With the anticipation surrounding the team right now and the NFL Draft coming to Cleveland next year, there is no better time to be the flagship television partner of our Browns.”

Last season, Browns preseason games airing on News 5 posted a 20.5 average Nielsen household rating in the region, the sixth-highest figure in NFL markets.

Details on the upcoming year’s TV programming schedule and on-air talent will be announced at a later date.
