All-State St. Ignatius hockey captain, Connor Koehnke, received McDonald's Student Athlete of the Week honors.
He maintains a 4.0 GPA, while taking AP and honors classes.
"It's not always going to be easy and sometimes you want to give in and lean one way or the other and take the practice off and either not study for the test but it pays off in the long run," said Koehnke. "And when you are able to do both at the same time it is very satisfying."
Koehnke is undecided on where he will attend college next year but has received several academic scholarship offers.
