Have you picked up a copy of “Midnight Sun” yet? The newest release in the “Twilight” series has author Stephenie Meyer returning to the start of the Edward and Bella love saga, except this time, the story is told from the perspective of Edward Cullen himself.

For more than 10 years, Meyer had been tempting readers with the promise of telling the “Twilight” story from Edward’s point of view, and the book finally dropped on Aug. 4. “Midnight Sun” has already claimed the top spot on the “USA Today” bestseller list, selling 1 million copies in its first week alone.

But “Twihard” fans got even more exhilarating news this week. During a virtual (and sold out) event with Books-A-Million earlier this week, Meyer suggested there may be more to the story of the Cullen family — and this could mean two new books.

“There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write,” Meyer said during the event, Yahoo! reported. “I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it’s there. I am not ready to do that right now, I want to do something brand new. For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating and I really want to do a new world and new rules and new mythology. Mythology is kind of my thing.”

While some fans are thrilled to hear there’s more to come for the Twilight series, others are excited to read anything new from Meyer. As @BibliophileJB tweeted, “It’s good to hear that she has a slew of projects in the pipeline”:

Meanwhile, other fans are still busy reading “Midnight Sun” and, like @Jordan_Sandy11, do not want to be disturbed:

Although “Midnight Sun” returns to familiar ground, the book is much darker than its counterpart, “Twilight.” Meyer said fans may be surprised by the inner-workings of Edward’s mind, and what he was really thinking and feeling during those early days when he fell for Bella Swan.

“I think people are not going to maybe have anticipated exactly what Edward was thinking and doing when he wasn’t onscreen, so to speak,” Meyer told USA Today. “I don’t know if it will be the Edward that they imagined. I think it might be an Edward that’s a lot different than that.”

You can get the book on Kindle right now, but if you’re trying to score a hard copy off Amazon, be aware it may take several weeks for it to be delivered. You may have better luck with your local book store.

Happy reading!
