AKRON, Ohio — A new partnership between Metro RTA and a company and will help ease concerns about overcrowded buses, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moovit is rolling out new real-time crowd information so you can make sure you feel safe when you board.

Crowd levels will be divided into three categories: available seats, standing room only or crowded.

Besides helping people weigh whether they’re willing to mask up and brace a bus that’s standing-room-only, Metro RTA said this could also help those with carts or strollers have some peace of mind while making travel plans.

Moovit says research shows one-third of public transit riders nationwide want to know how crowded their next bus is going to be before they board.

You can download the app on the Apple and Android app stores.
