Warning issued for beaches across Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND - Waves and dangerous currents have prompted the National Weather Service to issue another Beach Hazards Statement on Monday. The warning is for Lucas, Ottawa, Erie, Lorain and Cuyahoga counties.

It is in effect through midnight on Monday.

A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when swimming becomes risky due to a combination of rip currents and longshore currents mixed with wind. Even good swimmers are at risk, according to the National Weather Service.
