CLEVELAND — This winter-like weather just won't quit. The National Weather Service of Cleveland has issued a Freeze Warning for all of Northeast Ohio as temperatures are expected to take a dive below 30 degrees overnight, according to the NWS. This is the third time in a week Northeast Ohio has been under a Freeze Warning, with the first one issued on May 7.
The warning is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday for the following counties:
- Erie
- Lorain
- Cuyahoga
- Geauga
- Ashtabula
- Medina
- Huron
- Summit
- Portage
- Trumbull
- Richland
- Ashland
- Wayne
- Stark
- Holmes
The cold temperatures will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, the NWS stated. Unprotected outdoor plumbing will also be at risk.
Those who have plants should protect them from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes, they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
