CLEVELAND — A Beach Hazards Statement has been issued for portions of Northeast Ohio due to expected rip currents, according to the National Weather Service.
The Beach Hazards Statement is in effect from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. on Thursday for Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula counties.
Wind and wave action will cause currents on the Lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake.
Swimmers are advised to remain out of the water.
