Heavy rain prompts Flood Advisories for Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service issued a Flood Advisory for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Portage, Summit and Ashtabula counties Friday.

The advisory is in effect until 1:15 p.m.

Heavy rain due to thunderstorms will cause minor flooding in the advisory area, up to 1.5 inches is expected.

More rain approaching from Lake Erie will like give another inch or more of rain in the same advisory locations.

Some locations expected to experience flooding are:

  • Painesville
  • Ashtabula,
  • Willowick
  • Chardon
  • Fairport Harbor
  • Geneva-on-the-Lake
  • Mentor
  • Willoughby
  • Eastlake
  • Geneva
  • Madison
