Strong thunderstorms will bring torrential rain and lighting to parts of Northeast Ohio Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. This live blog will be updated throughout the day with current weather information.

The NWS issued a Flash Flood Watch effective until 12 p.m. Sunday for Wayne, Holmes and Stark counties.

The NWS has issued a Wind Advisory effective from 10 a.m. Sunday until 8 p.m. Sunday for Cuyahoga, Ashland, Lorain, Medina, Huron, Summit and Richland counties.

The NWS has issued an Areal Flood Warning for Medina, Summit and Portage counties until 7 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Lorain and Medina counties until 1:13p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for the following areas until 1 :15 p.m.: Mahoning, Medina, Trumbull, Summit and Portage counties, according to the NWS.

A Flood Warning has been issued for Lorain County from 3:20 p.m. Saturday to 7:15 p.m. Sunday, the NWS states.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Lorain, Erie, Cuyahoga, Medina and Huron counties until 12:30 p.m. Quarter-sized hail is possible. The National Weather Service advises everyone to head indoors right away.

Torrential rainfall could cause flooding. Don't drive on flooded roads. Remember: Turn around, don't drown.

Reminder from the NWS: If you are can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch until Sunday at noon for the following areas:

  • Lorain County
  • Lake County
  • Erie County
  • Cuyahoga County
  • Medina County
  • Geauga County
  • Ashtabula County
  • Trumbull County
  • Summit County
  • Portage County

Thunderstorms will affect parts of Stark, Medina, Summit, Portage and Wayne counties, the NWS stated.

Storms will hit portions of Huron, Richland, Medina, Ashland, Wayne and Lorain counties.

Strong winds in excess of 30 mph and nickle-sized hail are possible. There's a possibility of frequent cloud to ground lightning, the NWS stated. Residents are advised to stay inside a building or vehicle.

Additionally, torrential rainfall may cause flooding in some areas. Don't drive on flooded roads. Remember: Turn around, don't drown.
