CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for Lake and Cuyahoga counties Monday.
The advisory is in effect until 7:15 p.m.
Thunderstorms in the area are causing heavy rain, which is expected to cause minor flooding the area, NWS said.
Areas expected to exereicen flooding include Cleveland, Painesville, Willowick, Fairport Harbor, Parma, Euclid, Mentor, Cleveland Heights, Strongsville, North Royalton, Willoughby, Eastlake, Warrensville Heights, Perry, Highland Hills, Timberlake, Lakeline, Garfield Heights, Shaker Heights and Maple Heights.
One to two inches of rain have already fallen in the area and around an inch of addition rainfall is expect, according to NWS.
Motorists in the area are urged to turn around when encountering flooded roads.
