ERIE COUNTY, Ohio — The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Flood Warning for the Huron River near Milan in Erie County until Thursday evening.

The Flood Warning is in effect until 10:03 p.m.

At 4:30 a.m., the NWS said the stage was 17 feet with the flood stage at 18 feet.

The river is expected to rise above the flood stage Thursday to a crest of 18.6 feet late this morning.

The NWS said it will then fall below the flood stage Thursday afternoon.

Flowing ice could cause ice jams, impacting water levels.

Flooding can occur in low-lying areas along the river from Milan to Franklin Flats.
