National Weather Service issues High Wind Watch for most of Northeast Ohio Friday

CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for most of Northeast Ohio Friday.

The High Wind Watch will be in effect beginning Friday at 2 a.m. until 12 p.m. for the following counties:

  • Ashland County
  • Ashtabula County
  • Cuyahoga County
  • Erie County
  • Geauga County
  • Holmes County
  • Huron County
  • Lake County
  • Medina County
  • Richland County
  • Stark County
  • Summit County
  • Wayne County

South winds of 25 to 35 mph with wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread outages are possible and traveling could be difficult for high-profile vehicles.
