Photos: Flooding closes several streets in Port Clinton

PORT CLINTON, Ohio — Overnight rain led to flooding in Port Clinton, causing police to close down streets due to high water levels.

Port Clinton police warned residents to use extreme caution while on the roads, as some are impassable due to flooding.

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch until noon Tuesday for Ottawa, Sandusky and Erie counties. The Flood Watch includes cities such as Port Clinton, Sandusky, Mansfield and Upper Sandusky.

Heavy showers and a few thunderstorms may bring excessive rainfall to the area Tuesday morning before rain begins to diminish in the afternoon. Residents can expect additional rainfall of a half inch to 1.5 inches is expected.

We're still soggy today. The heavy rain has tapered to light rain but any extra rain is too much. Flooding should be less of a concern through today. We're drying out. From north to south.
