CLEVELAND — Parts of Northeast Ohio were hit and high wind and heavy rain for periods Monday afternoon, causing power outages, road closures and significant storm damage in at least one town in Lorain County.

Over the course of the afternoon, severe thunderstorm warnings were issued in Erie, Huron, Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Lorain counties, with the last warning expiring in Geauga County at 4:45 p.m.
