CLEVELAND — April snow showers are here. It’s a snowy start for some spots in Northeast Ohio as lake effect snow cranked out a coating overnight Thursday. This is just the beginning ahead of widespread snow on Friday, with some areas getting 1 to 3 inches around sunrise.

The Rock Hall got some snow overnight, too.

If you have to leave your house this morning, take some extra time to brush off your car and get from Point A to Point B.

The snow is sticking in some spots because the ground is much cooler, that means roads will be slick especially bridges.

More snow is falling East of Cleveland before slowly tapering. Plan on more sun today but not much warmth with a high lingering around 40 degrees.

A look ahead Friday

The next round of wintry weather arrives Friday. Plan on widespread snow with accumulations of 1 to maybe even 3 (or more) inches in spots.

Rain may also mix in south toward US Route 30. We should warm up a bit for the weekend with highs in the 50s.
