Wind Advisory issued for multiple counties in Northeast Ohio

Snow comes to the South, along with frigid temperatures and slippery roads

A Wind Advisory has been issued for multiple counties in Northeast Ohio, according to the National Weather Service.

The following counties are under a Wind Advisory effective from 3 p.m. Saturday. to 7 a.m. Sunday:

  • Cuyahoga
  • Erie
  • Lorain

The following counties are under a Wind Advisory effective from 6 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday:

  • Ashtabula
  • Lake

A Wind Advisory is issued when wind gusts of over 40 mph are expected. Drivers should use extra caution on the roads, according to the NWS.

On Friday, the NWS issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of Northeast Ohio that lasts until 3 p.m Saturday.

The conditions expected Saturday include:

  • Mixed precipitation
  • 1 to 3 inches of total snow accumulation
  • Ice accumulations of a light glaze
  • Winds gusting as high as 40 mph
