Winter Weather Advisory issued for Summit, Cuyahoga counties

CLEVELAND — It's April Fools' Day, but this is no joke—a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Cuyahoga County and Summit County until 9 p.m. Thursday.

With Lake Effect snow rolling and wind gusts of up to 30 mph, additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

The winter weather caused slippery roads Thursday morning, resulting in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 involving at least 10 vehicles, while another crash on Interstate 77 occurred involving 18 to 20 vehicle, police said.

Snowfall is expected to increase again in the area for the evening commute.

Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution on the roads.
