CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service of Cleveland has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of Northeast Ohio on New Year's Eve.

The advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. this morning to 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

The advisory is in effect for Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Portage and Summit counties.

The snow is expected to arrive by 8 a.m., with total accumulations of 1 to 2 inches. The areas that will see the most snow will be in the higher terrain east of the Cuyahoga River.

Higher amounts are expected in the snowbelt with lingering lake effect snow tonight.

Wind gusts could reach as high as 35 mph. Temperatures on Tuesday will hover in the lower 30s throughout the day.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions and near-zero visibility at times. The hazardous road conditions could impact the morning and evening commute.
