"There is a very large racial divide that people can't just ignore any longer," said Chardonnay Graham who will oversee one of the sessions.

The goal is to have candid conversations about how more people can share in Cleveland's revitalization.

The full summit is in late October but sessions are going on now to let people who can't attend in October still share their input.

"Starting a discussion in which we're working towards how we can have a better, brighter future is dependent on everyone that's at the table, everyone that's in the room starting to talk about how I can trust you," said Cleveland Public Library Executive Director and Cleveland Rising Summit Co-Chair Felton Thomas.

The goal is to identify a set of priorities that can be passed on to local leaders and organizations so they know how to support the people who already live in Cleveland and potentially attract more residents.
