CLEVELAND — A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information about a suspected arson fire to a building on Old River Road in the Flats, according to the Cleveland Fire Department.
The fire happened on Oct. 17 at the building that houses the 1330 On The River restaurant, located at 1330 Old River Road, around 6:30 a.m.
Cleveland firefighters were able to knock down the fire, which was on the building’s deck, and keep it from spreading through the historic building.

The fire was brought under control shortly before 8 a.m.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury.
According to the National Register of Historic Places, the building dates back to around 1860 and is one of the oldest buildings in city. The building that sustained damage is part of the Old River Road District that encompasses nine historic buildings.
"The fact that two major buildings in this district date from the 1860s and have survived with such a high degree of integrity is also remarkable, given that Cleveland's population expanded from 43,000 in 1860 to 381,000 by 1900 and over 878,000 by 1940," said the national register.
The original portion of this building dates back to 1860, with the later brick facade built later in the 19th century.
Anyone with information on the fire should call (216) 664-6380.
