What happens on Instagram doesn’t always stay on Instagram. Sometimes it will get you hauled into court.
Rapper Curtis Jackson III, aka 50 Cent, is learning that the hard way after court authorities were alerted to several of his social media posts showing him posing with wads of cash.
50 Cent filed for bankruptcy in July, and according to CNN, his lawyers appeared in bankruptcy court on Thursday because the judge believed he may be dishonest about his financial situation.
Over the past few months, the rapper has posted photos and videos showing himself surrounded by stacks of $100 bills in bed and in another photo with stacked $100 bill spelling out the word B-R-O-K-E. He claimed in another post that he was building a home in Africa.
At least three claimants alleged 50 Cent owes them close to $30 million.
The rapper's lawyer says he will appear in court at a future date to address the “transparency” concerns, according to CNN.
