Casting calls for The Bachelor and The Bachelorette come to Cleveland

You may not be accepting a rose, but if you're available on Saturday, July 29 you can accept an invitation to a casting call for The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. 

On average, 50 contestants are selected per season. The production team is currently casting for both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. 

An open casting call will take place in Cleveland at the DoubleTree by Hilton on Lakeside Avenue from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on July 29.

Haven't defined your current relationship? You have until the last week of July to make up your mind - all applicants must qualify as single. The production team defines single as "any co-habitation relationship involving physical intimacy; or a monogamous dating relationship more than two (2) months in duration." If you have previously been married, a separation must be legally complete before application. 

Applicants must follow other eligibility requirements, such as: 

  • Applicants must be 21-years-old at the time of application for the show. 
  • Applicants must have a passport valid for one year following the submission of an application 
  • Applicants can not be running for any type of political office,
    •  If you're selected as a contestant, you can not run for any political office within one year of the final broadcast of your season
  • Applicants cannot be convicted of a felony, have a restraining order against them or have been previously convicted of a misdemeanor 

If you're selected as a contestant, you must consent to being filmed and recorded for 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the duration of filming.

In 2016, Hudson native Caila Quinn appeared on the show.  The production came under scrutiny earlier this year after Bachelor in Paradise, a sister show to The Bachelor and Bachelorette, stopped production amidst claims of misconduct from the cast.

An internal investigation conducted by Warner Bros. revealed that no misconduct occurred between contestants. 

After the investigation, ABC resumed filming.
