CLEVELAND — After getting the go-ahead to reopen from Gov. Mike DeWine, Cleveland Cinemas has decided to postpone its opening due to a delay in blockbuster releases, the company said.
The Apollo Theatre in Oberlin, Capitol Theatre in Cleveland, Cedar Lee Theatre in Cleveland, Chagrin Cinemas in Chagrin Falls and Tower City Cinemas in Cleveland will remain closed until further notice, Cleveland Cinemas said.
“Our business is reliant on the release of new films from Hollywood as well as key independent distributors,” notes Jon Forman, President of Cleveland Cinemas. “With the recent announcement of release dates being pushed back on blockbusters such as Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, we have decided to delay our reopening. We hope to have new re-opening dates for our locations soon.”
Updates on the reopening will be provided on Cleveland Cinema’s website.
