5 Northeast Ohio bars cited for violating Gov. Mike DeWine's health orders

AKRON, Ohio — Five Northeast Ohio bars were cited for violating Gov. Mike DeWine's health orders.

Papa Don's Pub in Akron was cited for disorderly activity.

According to agents, around 8:45 p.m. there were more than 50 guests inside and every seat was occupied. Several guests were observed drinking alcohol while congregating shoulder to shoulder and moving freely around the bar.

Riverwood Cafe in Lakewood was cited for disorderly activity.

Agents arrived at the bar around 9:15 p.m. and saw guests standing shoulder to shoulder with no social distancing measures in place.

Shadows Bar and Grill in Parma Heights was cited for disorderly activity.

Police joined agents and found more than 100 people inside the bar at 8:15 p.m.

Officials said while some safety measures were in place, there were no physical barriers separating groups and guests were able to move around freely while drinking alcohol.

In the Drink in Fairview Park was cited for disorderly activity.

Agents said they entered the bar around 10:30 p.m. and the bar was still open.

Backstage Bar in Cleveland was cited for disorderly activity.

Agents arrived around 10:45 p.m. and found the bar was still open, with numerous guests drinking alcohol.
