COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department released an updated travel advisory map to six states reporting a positive testing rate of 15% or higher for COVID-19.
South Carolina was dropped off the travel advisory map while Nevada was added back to the map after it was taken off the week before.
Based on a 7-day rolling average of positivity rates on July 29, the affected states are:
- Mississippi 25.8%
- Alabama 19.9%
- Nevada 19.0%
- Florida 18.2 %
- Arizona 18.1%
- Idaho 17.5%
Ohioans are advised against visiting any state reporting a 15% or higher positive testing rate. Those who do travel to any of these states on the map are recommended to self-quarantine for 14 days after leaving those locations and returning to Ohio.
The advisory is intended for both leisure and business travel, one that the department of health wants Ohioans and out-of-state travelers to follow.
