Every day in Ohio there seems to be an overdose in our state, some resulting in fatalities.

EMS workers are giving naloxone to people who they think may have overdosed while driving.

It happened on the border of Niles Road and Warren on Sunday, according to WFMJ in Warren.

Paramedics gave naloxone to a driver who they thought had an overdose.

They realized it was a medical issue not linked to drugs.

More often than not, drugs play a factor so paramedics who arrive at crash scenes administer naloxone as a precautionary step.

News 5 checked with paramedics to see if giving naloxone to someone who didn't overdose can be potentially harmful.

Paramedics said that giving naloxone who doesn't have an opioid in their system won't help them but won't necessarily hurt them either.
