19-year-old dies after a wrong-way driver hits her car in Coshocton County, sheriff's office says

WEST LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 19-year-old woman was killed by a wrong-way driver late Friday night, according to a release from the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office.

Shortly before midnight, the sheriff's office received numerous 911 calls about a crash on U.S. Route 36 near Lafayette Township Road 509.

Information on scene revealed a man was heading eastbound in the westbound lanes in his 2008 Ford truck when he struck a 2005 Buick driven by Destiny L. Stull, 19, of Coshocton.

Stull received severe injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Coshocton County Coroner, the release states.

The driver of the truck was trapped inside his car and had to extricated by the West Lafayette Fire Department. He was transported to Coshocton Regional Medical Center where he was life-flighted to Grant Medical Center, according to the release. His condition is currently unknown.

Authorities said alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
