Last week, Akron police told News 5 there has been a spike in robberies committed against pizza delivery drivers – six cases in the last three months, before last weekend.
No injuries have been reported in any of the cases, and no arrests have been made.
Police are working to determine if these cases are connected. Many of the victims told police the robbers appeared to be in their teens, or possibly even younger.
Officers are stepping up patrols in the neighborhoods where the crimes happened and they're planning a special training session for pizza shops to offer tips on how to stay safe.
