AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man has been charged for a cold case homicide that happened in Akron in 1991.
According to Akron police, Daniel L. Rees, 57, is charged with aggravated murder for the death of Rachael M. Johnson, 23, who was found dead in the 700 block of Weller Avenue decades ago.
Authorities say that Johnson had sustained blunt force trauma, been sexually assaulted, stabbed multiple times, set on fire and dumped in the street. She was found by a passerby.
Rees was arrested Wednesday evening and taken to the Summit County Jail.
No additional information has been released.
