A man has been charged in the murder of Erick Hunt, Sr., in Akron last month.
Darien Raymell Mingo, 22, of Akron, was charged with murder. Police said Mingo was at an apartment on West Long Street on Dec. 19, possibly selling crack or cocaine, when Hunt and another man came into the apartment.

Police said Mingo fired shots and struck Hunt, who then ran out of the apartment and collapsed on the street. Hunt was taken to Akron General Medical Center, where he later died.
Mingo was arrested in connection with the homicide the same day, but was initially only charged with tampering with evidence.
