Akron police arrest 2, sign warrants for 2 others in connection to double homicide on Brown St.

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police arrested two people and issued arrest warrants for two others in connection with the death of a man and woman found shot to death inside a burning home last month on Brown Street in Akron.

Steven Hayes, 20, of Akron, was charged with two counts of aggravated murder. Kiana Buckley, 42, of Akron, was charged with complicity to commit aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated murder. Both Buckley and Hayes were booked into the Summit County Jail.

Police signed warrants for two others wanted in connection to the double homicide:

  • Gia Alexis Hernandez, 37, of Akron, has warrants for his arrest for tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.
  • Dylan Brown, 20, of Akron, has warrants for complicity to commit aggravated murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated murder.

At the time of the incident on July 28, police said a man and a woman, both later identified as Justin Walker, 34 of Akron and Melinda Pointer 47, of Akron, were both shot in the head and torso.
