Akron residents are having their windows shattered by someone throwing rocks into their homes

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating after nearly a dozen residents reported the windows of their homes were being shattered by someone throwing rocks into them.

Police said at least five homes were targeted in the city's North Hill area since Dec. 8.

From Nov. 20 through Dec. 9, the residents on the following streets reported their windows were shattered by rocks:

  • 1100 block of Hinman Court
  • 1300 block of Aster Avenue
  • 1100 block of Hinman Court
  • 440 block of Stanton Avenue
  • 440 block of Stanton Avenue
  • 1000 block of Dietz Avenue
  • 430 block of North Firestone Boulevard
  • 280 block of East York Street
  • 590 block of Parkview Avenue
  • 1400 block of Grand Park Avenue
  • 250 block of Cranz Place
  • 400 block of Lookout Avenue

One resident on Lookout Avenue reported she was sleeping in her bedroom when she heard a loud crash. A rock came through her bedroom window, causing it to shatter, according to a police report.

On Dec. 9, a resident reported she was sleeping on the couch inside her Parkview home when she heard a large crash and a rock came through the window.

In November, a resident on Hinman Court said he was upstairs of his home when he heard a downstairs window break. The resident went downstairs and found his front window was broken. He told police he didn’t see anyone in his front yard.

Police said no arrests have been made at this time.
