CANTON, Ohio — A child was life-flighted to Akron Children's Hospital after being rescued from a burning home on Root Avenue in Canton Monday morning, according to Canton fire.
Firefighters responded at about 8:56 a.m. to a single-story home.
A child was rescued through intense smoke and heat by firefighter and paramedic Jason Brown, who shared his own face mask and air in order to rescue the child.
The child was handed out through the front window where a firefighters and paramedics continued resuscitation.
The child was life-flighted to Akron Children's Hospital with the child's condition unknown at this time.
