A car crashed into a tree in Akron early Wednesday, killing the driver inside.
The crash happened around 3:15 a.m. on West Bath Road between Akron Peninsula Road and Northhampton Road.
Police said the 46-year-old man, identified as Ken A. Fickey, of Cuyahoga Falls, went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
The SUV then spun around and hit two more trees before stopping.
Fickey was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The Summit County Medical Examiner is investigating the crash along with Akron police.
