Akron taxi driver robbed at gunpoint while picking up a customer

Akron police are looking for a suspect who robbed an Akron taxi driver at gunpoint on Tuesday.

Police responded to the 1700 block of Cromwell Drive for a call about an aggravated robbery shortly after midnight.

The 51-year-old taxi driver of Rides 4 Less Taxi told police she was picking up a customer when she was approached by an unknown suspect.

The suspect pulled down his ski mask and placed a black handgun towards her left temple, demanding cash and her keys, according to the police report.

The suspect took $60 in cash along with the victim's keys before fleeing eastbound towards Zahn Drive.

Police checked the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.
