AKRON, Ohio — On Wednesday, a Green man was sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted for raping a 4-year-old boy, according to Summit County prosecutors.

Dean Davis, 29, of Sail Drive, in Green, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after he serves 10 years in prison.

Davis pleaded guilty to rape, sexual battery, endangering children and gross sexual imposition, prosecutors said.

In April 2018, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after they were made aware of an incident where Davis sexually abused a child.

Authorities said the assault was captured on a home security camera and the child's mother allegedly knew about the incident but didn't report it.

Davis was arrested in connection with the assault that was captured on video. Through the investigation, authorities learned the 4-year-old's mother was also ingesting prescription medication that belonged to the child.

Davis' co-defendant, the boy's mother, will go to trial on June 20 for obstructing justice.
