Two girls ran for help after discovering their aunt unconscious from a suspected heroin overdose Monday night, according to police.

The children, ages ten and four, found Lisa Thompson, 47, in the basement of a home on Kipling Street around 11:30 p.m. and thought she was dead.

The kids ran to a family member's house on Baird Street, where 911 was called.

Captain Dan Zampelli said EMS revived Thompson after administering three doses of Narcan.

She was charged with two counts of child endangering.

"We have this incident where a 10-year-old and a 4-year-old were affected by seeing their aunt who they -- in their mind -- thought was dead and that's got to be with them for the rest of their lives I'm sure," Zampelli said.

Thompson has overdosed three other times since July of 2016, Zampelli said.
