A taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint by a passenger in Akron late Wednesday night.
According to Akron police, a man got in the taxi in the 100 block of East York Street and asked for a ride to the 400 block of Schiller Avenue.

When the cab driver pulled into a parking lot on Schiller Avenue, the passenger got out a handgun. He told the driver to shut off the car's lights and engine. The man then robbed the driver before fleeing on foot.
The suspect is described as a black man between the ages of 25 to 40 with short hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and blue shorts.
