A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for three counties in the News 5 coverage area until late Saturday evening.
The following counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 p.m.
- Carroll
- Coshocton
- Tuscarawas
The main risk of severe storms across Northeast Ohio shifted south towards the Akron/Canton area earlier in the day.
The following locations have a higher risk for severe weather today between 1 and 5 p.m.
- The greater Akron/Canton area
- Ashland
- Mansfield
- New Philadelphia
- Wooster
- Youngstown
Those areas are at risk for damaging winds, large 1-inch sized hail, potential flooding and dangerous lightning. There is a risk for downed trees and power lines. Up to 2 inches of rain is possible in some areas.
