Businesses along Kenmore Boulevard in Akron are on alert after a series of break-ins that may have been committed by the same crook.
The owner of Kenmore Komic's & Games, John Buntin Jr., released surveillance video of a man who rode up to the store on a bicycle September 29 and then used a crowbar get inside the building.
The crook only got away with six dollars in loose change from a register, but Buntin said the break-in left him feeling violated.
"I think it's pretty silly to break into a place that's got a camera so he can steal five or six dollars worth of coins. I mean, going to jail for that little, it just seems dumb to me," Buntin said.
Within 48 hours, two other businesses along the same street were targeted by a crook.
A crowbar was used to break a door at Pierre's Brooklyn Pizza and Deli. A cash register was stolen.
Another cash register and a laptop were stolen after a window was shattered at Nexx Level Wireless.
Pierre Sahlani, the owner of the pizza shop, said he has never been burglarized in his eight years in business, but if it happens again, he will consider moving out of the area.
"They got to do something about it. If the city is not going to do anything about it, then everybody will carry a gun. That's the only way," Sahlani said.
Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to call Summit County Crimestoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
