Police are investigating accusations of employees conducting themselves inappropriately with students at two Akron schools.

One is a former staff member at Our Lady of the Elms School and the other is a teacher on paid administrative leave from Firestone High School.

Our Lady of the Elms School said that they immediately reported the accusation—"inappropriate behavior involving a high school student"—to law enforcement authorities and are cooperating with the investigation. The spokesperson added:

Nothing is more important to Our Lady of the Elms than the safety of our students, teachers and staff. So, nothing can be of greater concern to us than an accusation like this. We are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of the entire Our Lady of the Elms family.

At Firestone, the accused teacher was placed on leave after the allegations of a relationship with a student came to light about three weeks ago.

Neither teacher has been criminally charged and their names and the names of the students have not been released.
