'Bad Batch Alert' issued after Erie County sees spike in opioid overdoses

ERIE COUNTY, Ohio — Erie County health officials have issued a "Bad Batch Alert" after multiple people overdosed on opioids during a short time span.

According to the Erie County Health Department, nine people have overdosed since Monday. An alert is issued anytime the overdose threshold reaches more than three cases in a 24-hour period.

Health officials haven't released any additional information about the overdose cases.
