91-year-old hit by vehicle while working on his front yard, suspect runs

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that sent a 91-year-old to the hospital.

Police said the man was working in his front yard in the 3700 block of East 144th Street when a gray 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix ran off the road and clipped a tree. The car then struck the 91-year-old before hitting his house.

The car came to a rest in front of the home.

Witnesses told police a man, who was driving, and a female passenger exited the vehicle and ran.

The 91-year-old was transported to University Hospital and will be confined with severe injuries.
