The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo announced it will extend the Asian Lantern Festival through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3.
The zoo said it will also hold a special night on Saturday, Sept. 8 for festival attendees who purchased tickets for the night of Aug. 11 which was impacted by a power outage.
Over 70,000 guests have enjoyed the festival so far, according to zoo officials, which consists of 40 large-scale displays featuring hundreds of colorful lanterns illuminating the zoo during this after-hours event.

The festival also gives guests a chance to taste authentic Asian cuisines, spend time at the craft market and enjoy live performances.
The festival was initially scheduled to end Aug. 19. It runs Thursday through Sunday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Tickets are limited and can be purchased in advance online for a discounted price of $14.50 for zoo members and $17.50 for non-members. Tickets are $20.50 at the door. Children under the age of two are free. A family four-pack can also be purchased online for $45.
